What Options Do I Have As A Sub Over The Summer?
You may start to see fewer requests as schools begin to close for the summer. However, you have plenty of opportunities as a sub to grow professionally.
Why Am I Not Seeing As Many Requests Over The Summer?
Most schools operate 9 months out of the year, but some Swing school partners offer summer opportunities. They’ll be posted under the “Openings” tab, just like standard openings.
All requests are issued directly on the platform by our school partners.
Some tips to increase your opportunities:
Sign up for the waitlist
We encourage you to sign up for not only the open requests but the waitlists as well to maximize your opportunities.
Reaching out to any schools that you truly enjoyed working at and letting them know you are available for any summer opportunities can be a great way of building relationships and securing work as well.
Make sure all of your requirements are up to date.
Login to your account to see what needs updating.
If you're in California and do not already have a permit, getting one during the summer would be a perfect way of getting yourself ready for the upcoming school year.
Complete your online profile.
Once you accept an assignment, schools will be able to view your profile. That’s why you’ll want to make sure it looks professional. And don’t forget to include a photo!
