What is Swing Heroes?

Swing Heroes vs. Standard Requests

How it Works

Swing Heroes FAQ

Swing Heroes Cancellation Policy

We offer two convenient types of requests. In addition to standard requests, you can accept Swing Heroes requests.

Swing Heroes requests are released up to 14 days before the assignment begins, so they allow you to lock in pay for that day and set your work schedule in advance.

Swing Heroes requests also differ from standard requests in that when you sign up, you won’t see full request details. You will know the day, the pay, the region of the assignment, and the grade type (e.g., elementary or middle/high) when you sign up, and then additional details (grade level, subject, and site location) on the morning of the assignment.

How Swing Heros Works

1) Sign up for a specific date and location on Swing's platform. Swing Heroes requests are designated with a “Swing Heroes” label.

2) Receive full request details, such as location, start/end time, and subject by 9:30 a.m. the morning of the assignment. The school day can start as early as 7 a.m., so you'll want to be awake, checking your phone, and ready to commute to campus by 6 a.m. or thereabouts. (The text notification may arrive overnight, so make sure to carefully look through your message history.) This will help ensure you arrive on time.

You can also log in to your online Swing account to see where you are assigned.

3) If you do not receive request details by 9:30 a.m. on the morning of the assignment, you won’t be needed for that assignment. You will still be paid the rate listed on the request, and you’ll be free to accept another request.

The Swing Hero Program appears it can be a true benefit to Swing, the School, as well as the Swing Sub. Using your example of a Swing Sub signing up for a May 2nd Hero’s Request, I have a few questions:

    1)  Is signing up for the location based upon a specific school, city, district, or region, ie., South Bay?

    2)  Does the Sub. receive a confirmation of their Hero request, once place

    3) Is the minimum amount paid on the request the same amount as a full, or, half day amount at that location?

    4) If no details come in by 9:30am can the Sub. pick up other requests that same day, at any location?

    5) Will Swing be sharing with Subs. the specific regions in CA that Swings has the most need, and incentives for Subs. to the success of the Hero’s program?

    Thanks -

    Jay

    Hi Jay,

These are great questions! See my responses below:

    1) Yes, each Heroes request is based on a specific geographic region. If the request says "South Bay" then we will only send you requests in the South Bay. The request also includes a map. This map shows you all the schools in that specific region.

    2) Yes, you'll receive multiple texts confirming the assignment details.

    3) The amount shown on Swing Heroes is the floor (minimum) payment. You'll be paid the higher of the Swing Heroes amount or the actual request amount.

    4) At the moment, you can't, but we're continually improving our product.

    5) Not currently, but you can see a map of our school partners to see where most of our schools, and requests, are located.

Hope this helps clarify! Thanks for your interest in the program.

If you are a swing hero does that mean you don’t sign up for other assignments that appear on that day?

Not really sure what you mean about assignments coming in 2 weeks in advance

I am very sick now. So, I really need to take cold medicine that will make driving more dangerous. Please reply and tell me that I am relieved from heros duty today.

    Hey SWING,

Don't send me to Kelso Elementary in Inglewood or any school in Manhattan Beach School District. That district shows a lot of racism to Black Subs.
