Eligibility
To be eligible for the SwingCert program:
You must be applying for the Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit for the first time.
You must also complete your Swing onboarding in order to get the $150 stipend.
You must successfully obtain your permit through the Swing Cert program.
Ensure all receipts are collected and saved.
Upload the receipts using the designated upload link provided after you receive your sub permit.
Follow all submission requirements to avoid delays in processing reimbursement.
Non-Eligible Cases
Applications already started directly with the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) outside of SwingCert.
Renewals of the Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit. Renewals must be completed solely through the CTC, and no stipend is offered by SwingCert for renewals.
Teachers needing to renew their permits should follow the CTC renewal process directly
Special Case: Returning Substitutes Without Permits
Returning substitutes who worked for Swing in the past but never obtained a substitute teaching permit through the CTC or the SwingCert program may still qualify for the SwingCert program as first-time applicants. If you are in this situation, please contact Swing Education directly for eligibility clarification.

Reimbursement Issuance: Receipts submitted will be processed within 2-3 weeks.
Manual Processing: Issues requiring manual review may extend this timeline, and the reimbursement will be added to a subsequent paycheck.
Common Issues and Resolutions
Permit Not Yet Received or Reimbursement Delayed: Manually processed reimbursements may take longer but will be finalized and included in your next paycheck.
Eligibility for Specific Certificates: Ensure compliance with eligibility criteria, as reimbursement applies only to first-time applicants who provide necessary receipts.

To receive reimbursement for permit-related expenses, follow these steps:
Complete onboarding with Swing Education to become eligible.
Apply for the Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit using the guidance provided by Swing Education.
Save all receipts related to permit expenses.
Once your permit is awarded, upload receipts using the link provided by Swing Education, ensuring compliance with submission guidelines.
Await confirmation of stipend processing (typically 2-3 weeks for processing and reimbursement issuance).
Expenses related to certificate renewals are not eligible for reimbursement under the SwingCert program.
