The SwingCert program is designed to simplify and expedite the process of obtaining an Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit. This program supports first-time applicants by offering clear guidance, a streamlined process, and a $150 stipend upon successful completion.


What Is SwingCert and Who Is It For?

SwingCert assists first-time applicants in obtaining the Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit. The program offers several benefits, including:

  • A faster, simplified application process

  • A $150 stipend to cover permit-related expenses

  • Increased job opportunities and potentially higher pay

Eligibility

To be eligible for the SwingCert program:

  • You must be applying for the Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit for the first time.

  • You must also complete your Swing onboarding in order to get the $150 stipend.

  • You must successfully obtain your permit through the Swing Cert program.

  • You need to submit your receipts to verify your eligibility for reimbursement.

Non-Eligible Cases

  • Applications already started directly with the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) outside of SwingCert.

  • Renewals of the Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit. Renewals must be completed solely through the CTC, and no stipend is offered by SwingCert for renewals

    • Teachers needing to renew their permits should follow the CTC renewal process directly.
